Rule of Thirds:
This image has great rule of thirds because the chair the cat is in, which is the subject, is off to the side.

Simplicity:
This image has great simplicity because the background is a solid color so you only pay attention to the subject.

Leading Lines:
This image has great leading lines because the lines on the headband and on the desk lead to the bow.

Balance:
This image has great balance because the paint brushes are split equally in size and shape.
Framing:
This image has great framing because the windows frame the cat sitting on the steps.
Avoiding Mergers:
This image has an example of avoiding mergers because I avoided merging my dog with the laundry basket.

POV:
This image has great point of view because you see my point of view when giving my dog a treat.

Harmony:
This image has great harmony because the different colors of pink and purple work well together.

Rhythm:
This image has great rhythm because the crochet pattern is repeated and creates a rhythm.
You have some really good example of photos that follow the rules of composition. Your example of the rule of thirds is good because the chair is in the right third and the cat is at the bottom, right third. I especially liked your photo of balance because the separation of the paintbrushes into the two groups balanced each other. I also liked the colors in the photo and the emphasis on the vase/paintbrushes. I also liked the photo of the crochet doily. It does show rhythm and repetition because the design is repeated around each circle and then each circle repeats the pattern. One suggestion I would have is to write the words for your blog in a different color because I had a hard time reading what they said. Overall, you did a good job of following the rules of composition.
ReplyDeleteI really love your photos this week. You are just getting better and better as a photographer. I love that armchair image that you have first. It is very unique, the rules of composition that you follow (multiple rules) really cause the image to stand out and just capture my eye. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I think the best one is the first picture. It's very simple, yet really elegant and nice to look at. There's just something about it that makes it really cool.
