California
I recently got back from California and I took some nice pictures. These first ones were from my hike up to the Hollywood sign (7 miles!)

Andy Goldsworthy
- What is the title of your Artwork? Sun
- What location did you choose? Why? I went to Big Cottonwood because I wanted to use the river in some way.
- What nature materials is it made out of? Dandelions, rocks, and the river.
- What is its approximate size? Why? About two feet wide, because it was easiest to make it that size.
- Can people interact with it? If so, how? Please be very specific. They can take the flowers out, or move the rocks and the flowers will flow down the river.
- How did you take the surrounding areas into consideration while creating this piece? I looked for a spot in the river that would be easiest to get something to stay, then I looked around to see what was available to put in it.
- What message does it convey? It shows beauty in nature. I feel like it looks like a little spot of sunshine.

Photo Essay
Here is my photo essay!
I thought this assignment was challenging and a lot of fun. I was excited to thin about ways to try to represent who I am and what I think of myself through photos. I went for showing my interests as what is important to me. It was fun and creative.

Portraits
I took formal and environmental portraits of my mom. I don't enjoy portraits very much, so I feel like I could definitely use some more practice on them. I should have tried some different angles and some different lighting. But overall I think they turned out all right.

Macro Photography
I chose to take pictures of an object because I felt that would be easiest for me. I chose my little toy TARDIS, I thought I could get some cool photos and angles from it, and I feel like I did. I chose these five because of the angles and the way the words on the TARDIS are in focus and the rest of it looks more out of focus.

Landscape
I didn't have time to leave my house and take pictures this week, so I did the best I could. These were the best five I took.

Night Photography
This one is my nature photo
This one is my man-made photo.
This is my long exposure photo
This is my monochromatic desaturated photo. It could have been my man made architecture one, but the colors worked better for a desaturated one.
For my last one I did this other long exposure one.
I really enjoyed these night time pictures. It was a lot of fun to see how challenging it was to shoot at night. I really enjoyed the long exposure ones.

Food Photos
I learned that you need great lighting for taking pictures of food and you need great looking food. It is also important to try a lot of different angles and things like that. I thought these were my best five pictures because I likes the angles and the lighting.

Lightbox
These are the best pictures that I took with my light box. I had a lot of fun with this and I have been wanting to make a light box for a while. I wish I could have found more light sources to use, that is the only thing I didn't like about the way they turned out is that they could have used a bit more light. It was interesting to see what windows created the best light with different sized flashlights for all my little toys and things as models. I really enjoyed the assignment and feel like I learned a lot about lighting.

Creepy Shadows
These are the best five from the photos that I took. I think that they were the best because they used shadows to look a little scary the best. I learned that lighting and where the lighting comes from and the kind of lighting can really change the feeling of your photo. In the first photo I just used my flash from above. In the others I used a little Toy Story light that projects pictures so it had different colors. I took them all under my desk so that it would be dark. I also used different angles to aim the light at the subject. This was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from it.
